I've seen a lot of big weeks in tech…

I’ve seen a lot of "big weeks" in tech over 2 decades in the industry, but last week felt different.

We saw an industry shift toward the Agentic Governance Layer. The "wild west" of stateless chatbots is ending, and the era of enterprise control has arrived.

The Breakdown:

- Microsoft GA app-native agent execution via Work IQ.

The Shift: AI is moving from "sidebar assistant" to "background operator" inside your core apps.

- OpenAI introduced native persistence.

The Shift: Agents no longer "forget" between sessions. We are moving from stateless prompts to long-running, resumable workflows.

- Google locked down agent identity with cryptographic IDs.

The Shift: Security is shifting from "user-level" to "agent-level," creating a verifiable audit trail for every AI action.

The Bottom Line: Capability is no longer the bottleneck—control is. The "Agentic Stack" is maturing from a playground for builders into a governed architecture for the enterprise.

If you’re building for the future, you aren't just building for intelligence anymore; you're building for reliability, identity, and state.

I’ve shared a deeper technical breakdown of these signals below for those who want to dive more. 👇
