Time With God brings the Coptic Orthodox Agpeya — the seven canonical hours of the Church’s prayer book — into the small pockets of time you already have during the day.

Frequently asked questions

How does the app decide which hour to show me?
Time With God opens directly to whichever of the seven canonical hours — First, Third, Sixth, Ninth, Eleventh, Twelfth, and the Veil/Compline hour — is closest to the current time, so you don’t have to hunt through menus.
Can I change which psalms are included in an hour?
Yes. Go to Settings, choose a day of the week, tap an hour to expand it, and tap the pencil icon beside the psalm list. You can add or remove psalms, or use “Select All.”
What is “Switch Day” for?
The dropdown at the top of the main screen lets you manually choose which day’s prayer rotation to follow. This is useful while traveling across time zones. Tap “Reset to Today” to follow your device’s current date again.
Does the app work offline?
Yes, fully. The built-in high-quality Supertonic voice runs entirely on your device. Nothing is downloaded or sent to a server, and it works from the moment you install the app. Apple system voices also work fully offline.
Can I keep listening with the screen off or while using another app?
Yes. Playback continues in the background and from the lock screen. You can control play, pause, and skip from the lock screen or Control Center.
Why did playback stop after a phone call?
If playback stays paused after an interruption, manually press play to resume where you left off. Please email us with your iOS version and device model so we can continue improving this behavior.
Can I turn off the background music?
Yes. In Settings, turn off “Background Music.” It is enabled by default as a soft layer beneath the spoken prayers.
Can I change the reading speed or voice?
Settings → Playback Speed offers speeds from 0.5× to 2×. Settings → Voice Choices lets you choose the built-in high-quality male or female voice, or a voice installed on your device.
I found a bug or the app crashed. What should I do?
Email hourlytimewithgod@gmail.com with a short description, your device model, and iOS version. Screenshots or screen recordings are always helpful.
Does the app collect my personal information?
No. Time With God does not require an account and does not collect your name, contacts, location, or the content of your prayers. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
